Booking infrastructure · Built in Malta

The booking system Malta's charter operators actually own.

Escape the marketplace lock-in. Keep your website, your brand, your customer list. Our booking engine runs on your existing site — we handle the install.

§ 01 — The problem

Platforms take 25% and never give you the customer back.

You already know this. The marketplace sends a customer to your boat. They have a great day. You never hear from them again because the marketplace owns the email, the phone number, the preferences. Next year, when they fly back to Malta, they book someone else because there's no way for you to get in front of them.

Over ten years, that's thousands of customers who had an unforgettable day on your boat and who your business cannot reach. That invisible cost — not the 25% commission, the lost repeat business — is usually larger than everything else combined. BookItMalta exists to fix it.

§ 02 — What you get

Your booking engine. Your customer list. Your business.

Not a marketplace. A booking system that runs on your own site, under your own brand.
01

Stays on your site.

Keep your WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or custom site. We install the booking engine for you — one script tag, styled to match your theme, tested on mobile. You don't touch any code. Your brand, your domain, your traffic — customers never get handed off to a platform.

02

Captain portal built for Malta.

Calendar, availability, bookings, customer records, weekly payouts, WhatsApp confirmations, seasonal pricing. Refined over a year of real Malta charter operations. Not a generic global tool.

03

The customer is yours.

Every booking arrives with full email, phone, group details, preferences. Send a thank-you. Invite them back for sunset. Run a repeat-customer campaign next spring. Build the customer asset marketplace platforms structurally prevent.

§ 03 — The product

Built for captains, not for platforms.

The captain's portal is where the day-to-day actually happens. Availability, bookings, customer details, revenue — everything a charter operation needs, nothing it doesn't.

Captain's portal dashboard · bookings · availability
Booking flow embedded in your site
Customer records exportable · yours to keep
Content & WhatsApp edit pricing · auto-confirm
§ 04 — Under the hood

The specifics that operators notice.

Not a feature list for the sake of one — these are the details operators ask about on demo calls, listed up front.
01

Two-tier access control

Captain PIN for day-to-day bookings and availability. Owner PIN for revenue analytics and settings. Crew never see the commercial data.

02

Live availability calendar

Auto-refreshes every 90 seconds and on tab focus. Colour-coded by state — available, waitlist, partial. Customers always see what's really bookable.

03

Intelligent waitlist

Fully-booked dates stay tappable. Customer joins the waitlist automatically and gets notified if a spot opens. One more booking captured per season, every season.

04

Cross-sell on the fly

Full-day charter booked on the date they wanted? The engine offers the sunset cruise on the same day. Converts dead-ends into bookings without a sales pitch.

05

WhatsApp confirmations

Every enquiry generates a pre-filled WhatsApp summary the captain confirms personally. Automated where it should be, human where it matters.

06

Seasonal pricing tiers

Define peak, shoulder, and off-peak rates once. The system applies the right price to every enquiry automatically — no spreadsheet, no forgotten updates.

07

Automated email lifecycle

Enquiry received, booking confirmed, reminder 48h before, post-trip thank-you, review request. Five touchpoints. Operators set it up once.

08

Full customer records

Every booking writes a customer record — email, phone, preferences, trip history, notes. Exportable as CSV any time. Your list, your GDPR basis, your asset.

§ 05 — Pricing

Two ways to work with us.

With Hosted you rent the rails — a professional booking page and the system behind it, while you bring your own customers. With Full Site you hire the team — we build your website and actively grow your bookings. Both run on the same booking engine, captain portal, and the customer database that stays yours.

Rent the rails · hosted on bookitmalta.com
Hosted
12% per booking · no setup fee
€50 / month
How you get paid: the customer pays a 12% deposit at checkout — that's our fee. You collect the balance directly on the day. We never hold your money.
  • Branded booking page at bookitmalta.com/charters/you — your photos, your name
  • Listed in the Malta charter directory
  • Real-time availability — 24/7, no double-booking
  • Online checkout — we send the payment link, confirm the booking and email the customer
  • Your own customer database — every name, email, phone, kept for you
  • Your captain portal — approve enquiries, see your calendar, block your own days off, add bookings to your phone calendar
  • Optional add-on — manage your own off-platform bookings: +€50/mo (whole-boat charters)
  • We host, run and maintain it

Best for: operators who already have an audience and just need a professional way to take bookings online, without building a site.

How you get paid: payments run through your own Stripe account — you're paid directly, and our 10% is taken automatically at checkout. We never hold your money.
  • Everything in Hosted, on your own domain, plus:
  • A brand-new, conversion-optimised website — your domain, your brand, your story
  • We grow your bookings — Google Ads, SEO and content updates (ad budget billed separately)
  • Ongoing development — new pages and booking-flow improvements as you grow
  • Reliability & security — uptime, your data secured, your Google ranking actively protected
  • Conversion optimisation — we watch how visitors use the site and fix what costs you bookings
  • Self-service content editing, plus content loaded and your team trained before launch

Best for: operators who want someone running their whole digital presence — and a site they own. Less than hiring a developer, an SEO agency and paying for hosting separately.

Book a 20-min call

Full Site's lower 10% reflects your upfront investment and that the site is yours — the monthly fee pays for the active work, so the per-booking rate is lower. Google Ads management is included on Full Site; the ad budget itself is billed separately.

§ 05b — Add-ons

Optional services. Only if useful.

Things we deliver in addition to the platform. Charged separately so the core stays simple. Mix and match per season.

Owned-list email marketing

€99 / month

Seasonal email campaigns to your past customers. Repeat-booking driver. The thing OTAs literally cannot do for you because they hide your customer list.

Google Ads pilot

€299 / month + ad spend

We run paid acquisition for you. Direct traffic to your site, your booking engine, your customer relationship. We earn the commission on what converts; aligned incentives.

WhatsApp recapture

€49 / month

Automated follow-ups on abandoned bookings. WhatsApp open rates are 90%+ vs email at 22%. Recovers 5–15% of would-be-lost enquiries.

Multilingual

€500 one-time / language

Italian, German, French. Malta tourism is heavily mainland-Europe driven. Each language pays for itself within one peak season.

Photography refresh

Price on request

Pro shoot of your boat, crew, and key experiences. Two-hour session, 30+ edited images, full commercial usage rights, delivered within 7 days. We coordinate the photographer and quote per-job.

Site refresh

€1,500 flat · 7 business days

If your existing site is hurting bookings, we rebuild it on a fast template. Same domain, SEO preserved, booking engine native. Optional — only if your current site has real problems.

§ 06 — Next step

See it running. Then decide.

A 20-minute screen-share. We walk you through the captain's portal, show you exactly how the booking flow would work on your site, and answer the operational questions. No commitment. No follow-up emails.

Usually available within 48 hours No sales team — you talk to Julian We travel to your dock if you prefer
§ 07 — Questions

Answers, before you ask.

Do I keep my existing website?

Yes — that's the whole point. You keep your domain, your branding, your SEO, your Google presence. We embed the booking engine into your existing site. Most operators are live within 7–10 days of setup.

What if I don't have a website yet?

Two options. Start on Hosted — a branded booking page at bookitmalta.com/charters/you, €50/month, no setup fee, 12% per booking taken as the deposit at checkout. Or go Full Site — we build you a brand-new website you own, integrate the booking engine, load your content and train your team, live in 4–6 weeks. Full Site is €3,000 one-time build plus €350/month and a lower 10% per booking, and we actively grow your bookings with Google Ads, SEO and content.

How much commission do you take?

One flat rate per tier, with no attribution step-downs. Hosted is 12% per booking, collected as the customer's deposit at checkout. Full Site is 10% per booking, taken automatically through your own Stripe account. We never hold your money.

What does the monthly fee cover?

On Hosted (€50/month) it covers hosting, the booking system and your captain portal. On Full Site (€350/month) it covers all of that plus active marketing — Google Ads management, SEO and content — ongoing development, reliability and security, and conversion work on your site. Ad spend is billed separately.

Can I still use marketplaces and OTAs alongside this?

Absolutely. BookItMalta handles the bookings that come through your direct channels — your website, Instagram, Google, referrals. You keep the platform channels running in parallel for the reach they provide. Over time, most operators find their direct-booking share grows and their platform dependence shrinks. Your call, your pace.

Who actually owns the customer data?

You do. Every booking's email, phone, preferences, and notes sit in your captain's portal, exportable at any time. Full CSV download, GDPR-compliant, no lock-in. If you ever cancel BookItMalta, your customer list goes with you. That's different from how the big platforms work, and it's one of the main reasons operators move across.

What happens if I cancel?

You export your data, take your website, and go. No penalty, no lock-in. We give you 30 days to migrate to another system. The only thing that stays with us is our code — everything else is yours.

Why should I trust a new platform?

BookItMalta is built by TrueNorthDigital, using the same booking stack we've been running in production with a Malta charter operator for the past year. Same codebase, same principles — now available to other operators. This isn't a prototype we're selling before we've proven it.

How long does setup take?

Typical onboarding is 7–10 days from signature to live bookings. We build your listing, embed the booking engine on your site, configure pricing and availability, train you on the captain's portal, and run a test booking with you. The longest part is usually waiting for your approval on each step.
